BC.ATOX Ncon – stabilised process biology brings improved operating results
All nitrogen compounds are reduced to ammonium or ammonia in biogas fermenters. Dissolved ammonium and free ammonia are in equilibrium, which is controlled by the prevailing temperature and pH value. Free ammonia is toxic to most of the microorganisms involved in the biogas process. High concentrations of free ammonia therefore jeopardise the stability of the methane formation process and lead to incomplete degradation of the organic substance. This results in increased substrate costs and reduced plant utilisation.
The product BC.ATOX Ncon uses specific ion exchangers with very high ammonium selectivity. In combination with specific active ingredients to activate the biocoenosis, biogas production is sustainably improved under high ammonia loads. BC.ATOX Ncon can be used in plants without trace element deficiencies or in combination with trace element products.
